Training classes for adult dogs

At Dog Intuition we offer a range of dog training classes teaching the very basics through to more advanced exercises. These classes will enable you to control your dog in real life situations.

Training is naturally progressive, building on your dog’s skills and knowledge but at a speed that suits you and your dog. You will be shown the principles of treat based training and, more importantly, how to phase the treats out as each exercise is understood by your dog.

During the classes we carry out lots of exercises to ensure that your dog is happy to be touched by strangers and stand for examination all using food rewards.

Gradually improve your control of your dog in increasingly challenging situations.

An example of some of the things you might find useful in the classes are:

• Teach your dog to come away from distractions
• How to play with your dog
• How to gain your dog’s respect through body language and eye contact
• Walk your dog on a loose lead amongst other dogs and people

Remember your dog is learning all the time not only during the class, so you will need to put everything into practice. The more time you practise, the quicker your dog will advance.

Many of the exercises taught at Dog Intuition will also enable you to participate in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme. Should you wish to do so please let me know and I will guide you through the various requirements.
